LoveCat's Roundup

I've mentioned before I have a lot of outfits I want to write about, I've also mentioned that the 'problem' with LoveCats outfits (which isn't really a problem)  is that they're usually so perfect off the peg that there's not much of an 'in' for putting my own spin on it. That also means there isn't a lot to write about, since beyond the clothes, there's usually only hair, makeup & jewellery to choose.

I've had this post as a draft for ages trying to get the pictures right, but there comes a time you just have to say 'post it'

Nonetheless, there are a lot of great LC outfits I love, and I want to share them today.
Note: This list is NOT exhaustive.

Distortion.
Mentioned in my Cyberpunk post, this cute little outfit gets a steampunk vibe from the included goggles. Paired with a free hair from Amacci, BSN green eyes, and my Dragon Tatoo. Not much to say about it except it looks great.

  Natasha.
Channelling the Black Swan in this outfit I saved under 'Dark Ballerina' LoveCats Natasha has a real S&M Vibe. I paired it with a black flexi 'tutu', stockings from LC Anastasia, 'Streak' black makeup by Glamorise, a black updo and Death of Baroque tattoos.

Kisu.
With the flavour of the Orient, Kisu comes in several colours, of which I have three. Mixed with my 'Tan' skin, unnamed full perm oriental style flexi hair, brown eyes and dragon tatoo.

Anastasia.
Elegant and exciting, not for the faint hearted. The boots are the same as LoveCats 'Secret' but only come in the 'tall' version, so I raided the 'secret' folder for a short version. Rose red lips and vivid blue eyes, and some extra sparkly diamond bling.

Fallen.
Black leather for that 'Biker Chick'. This is one of those outfits that isn't too 'out there' when you want to look good without looking like fancy dress.

Pyro.
Appearing at the top of this blog, and mentioned in the 'Blog Photoshoot' post, I always meant to go into more detail about how I made up the look. There is actualy a bit more customisation in this than the others in this post, but it's still mostly LoveCats.
The outfit includes LoveCats 'Pyro' Hair (sold separately). With LoveCats 'Nisha' and Ronjas 'Jane' Tatoo layers. The skin is from Little Brittan Design's 'Deadly Assassin' - the 'hood shadows' on the skin hilight the eyes Virzeni Design 'Fire Eyes' really well.
The wings are Coadey Concord's Excelent Free Aurora Particle Wings, colour coded to the outfit.

Fire 6

Waterfall.
The other outfit from the top of the blog. The skin is MyDear's 'Bella (Pale)' with Mad design 'Kiss Me' Lips, and hair by Amacci 'Millan' Similarly coordinated set of Aurora wings.

Ice 3

Desire.
This ouftit comes in several colours and I have them all! It looks sexy and revealing, while providing cover where it's needed. They glow in places and have a great 'clubwear' feel. You can colour block with them or mix complementary colours (green/gold, gold/orange etc) for a unique look. They come with paw boots, and  matching ears & tail. I sometimes wear them with tattoos, and sometimes I don't. The hair

Cyberpunk

When I started this blog I had a long list of existing outfits I wanted to talk about, but then I created new ones as time went on and wrote about them first. One day I will write about those existing outfits.

That day is not today.

After seeing Imogen in LoveCats 'Distortion' (more on that in another post) with its steampunk-esqe goggles I was inspired. I wasn't sure what to do with that inspiration, until I saw a latex top by 'Catch It' as a featured item on marketplace and it hit me:

I wanted to do a Cyberpunk outfit.

First, I had to decide on a colour theme. The top I'd seen was green/yellow, but the store also had it in red.

I couldn't decide which colour to go for, so I went for both!

After picking up some matching pants, I found some nice flat 'Astral Queen' boots by Pop Tart. They needed adjusting, and had built in invisiprims, but that was easily fixed, and paired with an alpha for my feet they were looking great and suited the latex pretty well. The latex came in opaque or translucent, I went with the latter to show off my sweet new ink (different for red and green) and added some black tape pasties for modesty.

I tried a couple of cheap hair/goggle combinations from the marketplace but didn't find anything that really lit a fire under me. I'd seen a Steampunk pilot's hat by Dirty Lynx, but held off due to cost. I realised i'd have to put my money were my mouth is and buy it.

I wasn't disappointed, it's wonderfully detailed and fitted my theme well.

I added a 'Fatal Error' Gas mask (now gone from the marketplace), Fingerless Gloves from LoveCats (there she is again) Luna, and spiked bracelets by Akaesha. A 'Terminator' face tattoo and red cyborg eye (it was cyberpunk after all).

For exploring a dystopian high-tech future, I needed to get tooled up. I equipped a grenade belt from the 'Sara Croft' freebie set I got from NCI, one of Coco Colonial's Colt pistols, a leg strap knife from LC's Dangerous, and a set of Zeon: Rade Swords. These looked very nice, but I had to strip out a load of colour-change scripts to get my total down (I created a couple of 'fixed colour' copies, one for each outfit), but what you can't see in the screenshots is they are animated.

I really love how these outfits turned out, and had a lot of fun searching the grid for cyberpunk locations to take the snapshots (Graves store and Insilico) it just shows what a diverse place the grid is.

Firestorm Released

The Phoenix Firestorm Viewer has finally moved from Beta to Release! The team behind the Phoenix and Firestorm viewers ( http://www.phoenixviewer.com/ ) made the announcement a couple of days ago and I've been spending what spare time I had on doing clean installs on my two PC's and Laptop.

I've still only had a chance to tweak settings and get things set up, but it's going well so far. I can finally switch on shadows, ambient occlusion, and depth of field with my Radeon HD6970 (something only my old GTX260 could do in the mesh beta) it seems faster in general too.

The bug that stopped me from saving changes to an outfit while the bridge was attached is gone.

Not everyone is finding improvements in framerate though, there are some open gl problems with the latest nvidia cards/drivers apparently but I don't have the kit to experience that firsthand.

This viewer will allow you to view Mesh items properly (joining V2/3, dolphin, & CoolVL et al). The team promise a mesh compatible version of Phoenix to follow soon.

I like it, you should try it.

Calas Galadhon national park part 2

I ventured into the cave and followed a twisting, turning path past rock formations and pools. It seemed to go back forever until I emerged with a view of the sea. The path continued into the mountain, up a narrow passage, eventual opening into a winter wonderland.

This is the quaint little town of  Calas Galadhon itself, there is a (frozen) boating lake, lovely little shops with gifts and information about the park and other causes dear to the creators, such as an 'HIV/Aids Prevention & Education Center.'

When I first visited the park, this sim (and the ones next to it) were still green, but with an impressive dedication to authenticity, the creators brought about a change in season (which arrived before I could come back and take pictures. So not only do I recommend you visit it now. But you should come back in the spring too!

Feeling a little under dressed for snow, I borrowed a canoe and paddled for warmer waters. I managed to avoid having my little boat capsized by a pair of playful Orca and made landfall in the Gulf of Lune

Another sim, another environment, coastal marshes teeming with life, from beavers building dams, otters herons, and even a seal.

Do NOT sit on the seal. It bites :(

Naturally, walking around a marsh, I got a little muddy :p

There's much more to explore, much more to cover. My pictures can't do it justice, you really have to see it for yourself.

Calas Galadhon national park - Misty Mountains

After all the teasing, I present to you Calas Galadhon national park: Misty Mountains

This place is remarkable. Run by Truck Meredith and Tymus Tenk the park is clearly a labour of love and can only be described as epic in scale. I don't think it's possible to cover all of it on this blog, and it's certainly not possible to do it justice. You really need to experience it for yourself, you can get there via the link at the top of the post, or via my picks inworld.

I started out in the Misty Mountains, walking along dirt trails and through lush grass beneath a canopy of pine trees, the birds were singing, and the sun was shining, I even caught sight of some deer. There are lots of couple's dance balls as well as poseballs to sit and relax (some more secluded than others) so you can sit and relax with a friend or loved one.

I found a winding little path that followed a stream, past animals looking for fish before emerging at the sea, and following the path back up to the cliffs I'd visited before.

I stopped to admire the view before heading back inland. I paused at a cottage, resting for a while by the fire as a cat dozed in the window. Calas Galadhon is founded on Openspace sims, which means there are no residential parcels and all of the houses on the estate are open to the public.

I returned once again to my arrival point, and circling around the lake, I discovered a cave.
